Learn to Belay

Ready to learn the ropes?

This class will teach you how to put a harness on, tie in, and belay for a top-rope climber. It's a lot to learn, but once you have, you can be signed off as an unsupervised climber to climb in our centre completely unsupervised.

This learn-to-climb class is 2 hours long, and we recommend at least 2 classes to learn and practice everything. Once you are ready, our instructors will sign you off to top-rope belay, and you can get climbing.

£30 per person, per class.

Price includes entry and equipment hire.

Classes need to be booked in advance and can be done online, over the phone, or at the centre.

There is also an option for block booking and booking multiple weeks in advance.

This does not have to be consecutive weeks; if there is a week you cannot make, then as long as Big Depot Climbing Centre knows in advance, the bookings can be rolled over to a different date.

All classes are on a first-come, first-served basis. You can book as many weeks as you like in order to save your spot.
