Depot Youth Cup Boulder 2026

The Depot Youth Cup - Boulder is a bouldering competition event aimed at fostering friendly competition across all levels of youth climbing, from those experiencing it for the first time to those already on competitive pathways.

Depot Youth Cup - Boulder returns in 2026 with a bit of a shake-up. We're changing the format to provide more climbing for every entrant and create a more inclusive competition environment.  The event takes place from 10am until 3pm, with 50 blocs for all competitors to climb on, with unlimited attempts.

All competitors must have a signed and completed registration form completed by a legal parent or guardian. Any accompanying adults must also sign a Depot Climbing registration form for themselves. 

£30 per competitor.

Before taking part in Youth Cup, both the parent/guardian and the attending child must watch the video induction together. Following this, a registration form must be completed before participating in the DYC.

These can be completed online at our registration page. Under-18 forms must be completed by a parent or legally appointed guardian.

Format

In a scramble format, there will be 50 blocs set that are available for all competitors to attempt, with over 5 hours to complete as many boulders as possible.

Every top is worth 1000 points. The points for each top are divided between every competitor in the designated category that tops the boulder.

Attempts per bloc are unlimited; total attempts do not count towards your score, just successful sends. Only the highest scoring 15 boulders for each competitor will be used for overall positioning.

1st, 2nd and 3rd for each category will be decided by who occupies their position when the event ends; there will be no finals.

Scoring Example

Boulder 1 - 1 top = 1000 points

Boulder 2 - 7 tops in the same category - 1000/7 = 143 points each.
